THE TRUE PURPOSE OF EDUCATION: TO TEACH A MAN TO CARRY HIMSELF TRIUMPHANT TO THE SUNSET.
Despite the moral decay and shortcoming of today’s education systems, it is still the greatest single investment to ensuring a clear way out of poverty. Simply put young people who have better education backgrounds have better chances of being self-reliance and sense of reasoning.
CHAD works in Nigeria, currently in the northeast to create educational system that respond to the needs of the people. The region has been faced with insurgence for decades now thereby leaving thousands of children out of school. To address this ugly menace, CHAD works side by side with Nigeria Ministry of Education, community members, village heads, schools, teachers and families to create education systems that respond to the complex, dynamic and diverse needs of the people. This has been our successive strategy to inculcate good knowledge to the children living in the communities where we are implementing our educational project. Our programs emphasize the use of data for decision making, foster student-centered learning and promote education in fragile and post-conflict areas. We established learning centers in different locations heated with crises to enable the children continue with their education.
CHAD collaborates with other NNGOs, INGOs and government to promote education with the ultimate goal of enhancing good leadership and professional development in the society. CHAD’s educational program in Nigeria tends to be a series from childhood to adulthood for those in formal learning settings. It is designed to improve teaching and learning, increasing family involvement, facilitates learning in both formal and informal education centers, extending opportunities of education for children and youth with physical disabilities and cultivating their careers in their various field of life.
The changing global landscape and CHAD’s own experiences call for new ways of tackling economic and social scourges. We are committed to restore the decayed educational system in Nigeria as well bringing lasting change to the global employment crisis through the programs we implement, the partnerships we develop and the advocacy we undertake.
Young people are the greatest natural resource for sustainable economic and social growth, if given the right opportunities. This must all start with education – long-term learning that focuses on entrepreneurship development, learning a technical trade or personal growth – thus providing a way for people to life themselves out of poverty and contribute to the development of the society, their own life, that of their family.
